The challenge

The Wireframe Trap

I was handed a set of pre-made wireframes, but they were insufficient and misleading. I found myself in constant friction with the product team—I followed the wireframes, but they insisted the flow was "wrong." The project was stalling because the initial documentation simply did not reflect the product reality.

I followed the wireframes, but they insisted the flow was "wrong." The project was stalling because the initial documentation simply did not reflect the product reality.

When wireframes lie, stop designing. I realized that following bad documentation was a waste of time; I needed to facilitate a bridge between the client’s vision and the actual product logic.

The process

The "Underground Flow" Pivot

I requesting a direct session with the key stakeholders. Instead of traditional flowcharts, I created "Underground Flows"—using UI screens as flowcharts—where I mapped logic in real-time. I used Figma comments as "living documentation" directly on the screens, locking in decisions instantly. This turned a 30-minute meeting into the product's foundation.

By merging flow definition with UI screens, I forced stakeholders to visualize the end-result during the discovery phase, eliminating ambiguity

Unified Multiplatform

For the mobile app, I applied the lesson learned: before designing, I requested a detailed session to connect the existing wireframes into a meaningful flow. I architected the mobile solution using Flutter, ensuring feature parity for iOS/Android from a single codebase. This optimized development and allowed us to build a custom-feeling experience at hybrid-speed.

The critical flow was the barcode scanning. I designed an interface providing instant visual and haptic feedback upon every scan, ensuring users were never in doubt about an item's status during high-volume inventory counts.
